Marissa Sappho is a licensed social worker and psychotherapist with a private practice in Manhattan.

She believes that therapy can be a transformative process that can open people up to understanding deeper parts of themselves.

Certain conflicts may prevent an individual from moving forward in their life. People may have problems that interfere with attaining life goals, finding meaningful and stable relationships, and leading content lives.

Employing a psychodynamic approach, Ms. Sappho helps the individual become more aware of his or her wishes, motivations, fears, anxieties, and coping mechanisms. Ms. Sappho works together with her clients to help them gain more realistic perspectives about themselves and others in an effort to improve their relationships with other people and to enable them in reaching their full potential.
