Missed/Cancelled Appointments: I will be as flexible as possible regarding changing appointments. However, I request a minimum of 2 days notice for cancellation of regularly scheduled, standing appointments with the exception of unforeseen emergencies. Any regularly scheduled, standing appointments cancelled less than 2 days in advance will be charged for the time reserved if I am not able to fill that time. I also provide the option of conducting a session by phone if you cannot come to my office.
Telephone Communications: I will make myself as available as I can for ongoing telephone communications with clients and families. Usually, all calls are returned within 24 hours. I can also be reached in emergencies via cell phone (my office phone points to my cell phone when I am not in the office). Telephone communication requiring more than 15 minutes will be pro-rated at my hourly rate for standard sessions.
E-Mail Communications/Comments from Website: The e-mail form on this website is processed through a secure server and requires your e-mail address for me to be able to respond. My response back to you cannot be guaranteed for confidentiality because that is your responsibility to safeguard any response from our office. If you use a computer at your place of employment, be aware that many employers monitor e-mail and can access your information from that computer.
Fees: I offer a sliding scale fee for individuals who do not have the financial means to afford full fee payment. Fees are discussed and agreed upon during the initial consultation. Payment can be made by check or cash.
Billing: While payment can be made at the time of each visit, all clients/families will be billed at the close of each calendar month for all sessions accrued within that calendar month. Payment is then due upon receipt of the bill, or no later than the 10th of the following month. If there is difficulty in paying, please discuss this with me and I will set up a payment schedule for you.
Insurance: In order to insure confidentiality of my clients and maintain the integrity of the therapeutic relationship, I do not directly participate in insurance reimbursement. Some clients have had success getting reimbursed by their insurance carriers for my services as an out-of-network provider. Upon request, I will provide you with a statement at the end of the month that includes the necessary information for submitting a claim to your insurance carrier.
